HIKARI MISO LAUNCHES MISO SOUP POWDER “TOSSA MISO SOUP”

Hikari Miso Co., Ltd. announces the launch of “TOSSA Miso Soup” miso soup powder. The Japanese word “tossa” means a very short time, and when time is indeed limited, this new product quickly delivers delicious and classic miso soup. “TOSSA Miso Soup” will be available from September 1, 2025, at supermarkets and other retail outlets throughout Japan.

“TOSSA Miso Soup” is a miso soup that blends red and white miso varieties for a profound flavor punch. The taste of the miso is preserved in a freeze-dried powder, and each filling bowl also contains the classic miso soup ingredients of wakame seaweed, tofu, fried tofu, and green onions. The awase-dashi stock made with a combination of katsuobushi (dried bonito) and sodabushi flakes (from a different type of tuna known as mejika or marusoda), is light and fresh, accentuating the flavor of the miso and other ingredients. As a powder, “TOSSA Miso Soup” can be prepared quickly any time simply by dissolving in boiling water, for miso soup whenever you want it. For a meal in a hurry, as a store cupboard staple, or to take on overseas travels, “TOSSA Miso Soup” is a great choice, whatever the occasion.
