How to Make Dashi with Granule Soup Stock Recipe

Beloved throughout Japan, Dashi Stock is now so easy for you to prepare at home with dashi soup stock powder. Spoon it into boiling water and you’re done!

Servings 4


  • 3 cups* (720 ml) water
  • 1-1¼ tsp. dashi soup stock granules found in Asian sections at your supermarket or Asian markets


  1. Pour water into a pot and bring to a boil.

  2. Add the granule dashi and give it a quick stir.

Recipe Notes

*For our purposes 1 cup is equal to 240 ml

Quick Tip: You can add more dashi to suit your taste. You can also add a small amount of sake if you like.
