World’s top organic miso maker, HIKARI MISO CO., Ltd., will participate in BIOFACH 2022 in Nuremberg, Germany from July 26-29. BIOFACH is the world’s leading trade fair for organic food, which started in 1990 in Germany and is held at 8 countries in the world today.

As a leader in organic Miso manufacturer, HIKARI MISO will exhibit its organic miso products such as red, white, mild sodium, saikyo sweet, brown rice in Hall 1 at stand #1-620.

◆ MISO IN ORVERSEAS MARKETS

The export volume of miso has been increasing year after year with the boom in Japanese food and fermented food overseas. 2021 saw a 123% increase over the previous year, with the export volume reaching 19,654 tons, setting a new record. Our export amount has been also growing by more than 115% per year in recent years. In particular, demand for safe, reliable, and high-quality organic miso is growing remarkably, driving exports of miso󠄀. We have expanded sales by developing products specifically for overseas markets that meet local tastes and preferences.

◆ OUR COMMITMENT TO ORGANIC MISO

We have been working on organic miso for more than 30 years, even before the organic certification system was established in Japan. To meet the demand for organic miso overseas, in 2001 we obtained certification under the National Organic Program (NOP), an organic program established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and in 2008 we obtained certification under the European organic standards established by the EU Commission. As a leading manufacturer of organic miso, we are committed not only to pursuing great taste, but also to developing sustainable products.
